Once you have arrived on playa and get settled in, our volunteers head to the Check In building next to Station 3. Check In is staffed by friendly and efficient volunteers who will outfit you with a uniform, and a BMID (Identification). New uniforms are issued to new volunteers, returning volunteers should always bring their uniform shirts with them to the event. BMID’s are used for all sorts of things, depending on your role.

Our Planning Section also creates Incident Action Plans for  large burn events, daily Situation Status reports containing overviews of significant incidents, and data from the previous 24 hour operational period and anticipated or potential risk in the 24 hours to come.
